Meet the latest addition to our family: Flint! He came to us by way of our dear friend, Miss Kelly Grace, having been recently orphaned and found wandering around a local estate sale. He's super cute in every way, but the thing that really gets me are his little eyelids. They're squinched ever so slightly like he's laughing, or about to cry. Never mind the amazing detail of his tiny fingernails and toenails, and the stylish Steiff tag in his left ear. They say "There's a Steiff for everyone," and this is the one for me. Damn it, I may have to start carrying him around in my handbag, so he's always close at hand.

He's named after a young chimp from the early days of Jane Goodall's research with the chimpanzees of Gombe National Park. The real Flint had a tragically short life, but the new Flint will have a life full of only roses and sunshine.
